Official Verdict

CT scan showed a stress fracture on the ischium of my pelvis. I don't know much else at this time, but when I do, I'll share.

In the words of Ryan, that's all I got. Take it easy.

Wow, didn't see that coming. Sorry to hear the news. I guess at least knowing what the problem is/was can be a positive step. A year from now, you'll look back on this as just a bump in the road.

In college I broke or badly fractured my inferior ramus of my pubis (I think that's what it's called). If that's not the same as your injury, it's at least in the same region. It took us a long time to figure out what it was, because the health center/trainers kept insisting that it wasn't a bone injury. I think I've since heard about 110m hurdler who had this injury.

Like Greg suggested, I now view it is just a bump in the road, but it really sucked at the time. I lost at least nine months (and maybe even a year) of running to it, but I had a history of bone injuries which healed slowly, so hopefully yours won't take anywhere near as long.

The good part of the injury was that 1) once it healed, it was never a problem again, and 2) I ran better than ever after that

I'm really sorry to hear this. Hang in there and good luck.

" Hey folks out there, it' night-time in the Dolomites and you are listening to WRUN 107.6 fm , the runners station, and the next tune, an historical favorite of mine that puts me in a good mood just thinking about it, goes out to Mario Fraioli, a running man in Massachussetts, who is going to have a lot of thinking to do in the upcoming days. And remember Mario: "Don't Stop" trying to look at the best of things, even at the hardest times... real tragedies have no limits... Enjoy..."

Don't Stop - Fleetwood Mac
If you wake up and don't want to smile
If it take just a little while
Open your eyes and look at the day
You'll see things in a different way
Don't stop thinking about tomorrow
Don't stop, it'll soon be here
It'll be, better than before,
Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone
Why not think about times to come
And not about the things that you've done
If your life was bad to you
Just think what tomorrow will do
Don't stop thinking about tomorrow
Don't stop, it'll soon be here
It'll be, better than before,
Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone
All I want is to see you smile
If it takes just a little while
I know you don't believe that it's true
I never meant any harm to you
Don't stop thinking about tomorrow
Don't stop, it'll soon be here
It'll be, better than before,
Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone
Don't you look back
Don't you look back
